In terms of environmental services, data provides access to new information, and thus better anticipate, better understand the challenges of each territory, and put in place appropriate management strategies to the specifics of each. It is therefore an essential resource for the success of the ecological transition.

Connected meters, sensors in water networks or in voluntary supply terminals, energy consumption of facilities… SUEZ experts use a multitude of data every day. Artificial Intelligence helps create value from this data.

Some examples :

  • In terms of production of drinking water : in using predictive models to anticipate water consumption and adjust the drinking water production system in real time depending on electricity rates, availability of equipment or available reserves.
  • In terms of asset management of water networks : detect leaks early and anticipate their location, and produce renewal plans more precise and more efficient, and optimize investments.
  • In terms of waste recovery : there are for example solutions of artificial vision to detect non-compliant waste that could cause malfunctions in energy recovery sites.

CoDAI, an innovative platform providing a trusted framework for artificial intelligence projects

In collaboration with Microsoft, SUEZ has created the CoDAI platform which centralizes and accelerates its policy of innovation in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

This solution allows:

  • To democratize the use of artificial intelligence and to accelerate the large-scale deployment of its new applications
  • To meet the challenges of trust around these Artificial Intelligence solutions, by centralizing developments on a reliable, robust, high-performance infrastructure that guarantees the development of ethical, transparent and unbiased algorithms.

An innovative project that strengthens SUEZ’s collaboration with Microsoft, which has been supporting the Group for many years in its digital transformation.

A concrete example of achievement thanks to this approach: the Sewer Balla smart solution to inspect wastewater networks and identify anomalies.

This small ball inserted into the networks embeds sensors associated with an artificial intelligence algorithm which makes it possible to analyze the data collected and to quickly identify the types of disorders encountered.

The CoDAI platform contributed to the development of this innovation in a very short time, while testing it with SUEZ customers and adapting it in agile mode based on their feedback.
