Atos launches an “Edge-to-Cloud” solution based on 5G and artificial intelligence

Atos announces the launch of Atos Business Outcomes-as-a-Service (“Atos BOaaS”), a 5G, Edge and IoT offering developed in collaboration with Dell Technologies. Atos BOaaS leverages the benefits of Cloud-to-Edge (edge) and Cloud-to-Far-Edge (remote edge) architecture to extract commercially actionable data using Artificial Intelligence (AI) . The deployment, piloting and management of the solution are automated from end to end.

Edge computing adds complexity to digital systems, and the IoT generates large volumes of valuable untapped data. By combining the expertise of Atos and Dell, Atos BOaaS enables companies to quickly achieve tangible and repeatable business results from IoT data streams and analytics. The solution also makes it possible to manage an IoT ecosystem from a single dashboard.

Atos BOaaS brings one of the most innovative edge AI applications to the market, powered by Dell. Dell’s Streaming Data Platform creates reliable, fast, and secure data pipelines from edge to cloud that enable data analytics. Atos bundles all technology components into complementary services, in an on-demand consumption model – enabling customers to focus on the operational benefits of data analytics, at the edge and in the cloud.

Atos BOaaS revolutionizes digital operations by relieving businesses of the need for on-site technical support, reducing their carbon footprint. Atos BOaaS thus enables each customer to save hundreds of tons of CO2 per year. The annual economic and environmental impact of Atos BOaaS can be calculated as follows: on 1,000 retail businesses, the solution saves 66,000 hours on maintenance, compliance and updates; and up to +1% to 2% in turnover, which corresponds to $4.2 million in savings in digital media.

Atos’ capacity for innovation was recognized today at Dell Technologies World in Las Vegas with the Dell Technologies Global Alliances 2022 – Global Excellence in Innovation Award, which marks Atos’ unwavering commitment to supporting the successes of its customers in the age of data.

Capable of detecting impending failure of both far edge and edge equipment, Atos BOaaS can trigger a series of automated actions, such as ordering new hardware solutions, sending an alert to the maintenance team or the delivery and configuration of the Edge-to-Cloud platform. Atos BOaaS improves asset utilization in the retail, theme park and industrial sectors by providing a fully automated, edge-managed cloud environment at scale. Atos BOaaS is based on a “zero touch” deployment model which means that settings, configurations and applications are automatically and securely provisioned on devices. Customers’ technical teams can configure or modify thousands of devices at the remote edge of the cloud. Atos BOaaS provides an “App Market” that allows customers to deploy complex analytics and applications at the edge, such as predictive maintenance to avoid downtime or simple temperature or vibration monitoring of equipment. Atos’ Computer Vision platform is also available on this App Market, allowing customers to run AI-based analytics and scenarios for their CCTV equipment.

Atos BOaaS simplifies complex digital operations so that non-technically trained sales teams can, for example, manage on-site interventions, aided by the system’s built-in automation features. Once the new device is installed as easily as plugging in a lamp, applications are automatically deployed and business operations start or resume.
