Israeli Addionics named pioneer company by Bloomberg New Energy Finance.

Addionics, the Israeli company specializing in chemical diagnostic battery technology, has been selected as a 2022 Pioneer by the Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) Information and Communication Technology Research Institute for the potential of its technology to accelerate global decarbonization and halt climate change.

Winners are judged by a panel of cross-industry experts based on technology innovation, ability to transform and scale technology.

Addionics’ award-winning Smart 3D Electrode technology improves all key battery performance parameters, regardless of battery chemistry.

“We at Addionics are honored to have been selected as Bloomberg’s New Energy Pioneer among such an outstanding group of companies. It’s a testament to our success in pushing the boundaries of battery innovation. Bloomberg has a long history of identifying startups that become the world’s most successful cleantech companies,” said Moshiel Biton, CEO and co-founder of Addionics.

“This award is recognition of Addionics’ unique approach to providing better performing, lower cost batteries globally. We look forward to solving some of electrification’s most pressing challenges by building the best battery architecture on the market.

“Addionics has developed an innovation to reduce the learning curve of lithium and this innovation is particularly promising because it can be applied to any type of battery. The innovation is based on physics (electrode design) rather than chemical innovations, which often require many years of optimization said Claire Curry, co-chair of the selection committee and head of technology research, the industry and innovation at BloombergNEF.

The company has innovated a smart 3D design for the electrodes that is compatible with any battery chemistry, existing or emerging. The 3D structure allows active material to be embedded throughout the electrode at higher loads, improving key battery performance parameters.

Addionics’ key intellectual property is its patented, cost-effective, and scalable battery-grade electrode manufacturing process patented, cost-effective, and scalable battery-grade electrode manufacturing process, which significantly reduces costs by enabling battery manufacturers to use their existing manufacturing infrastructure. This “drop-in” solution is compatible with existing battery manufacturing facilities and battery assembly lines and existing assembly lines. In addition, Addionics proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm accelerates battery development time and can accelerate battery development and helps optimize electrode designs to meet all battery types and performance requirements, while reducing production costs.

With these combined advantages, manufacturers can build high performance batteries at a lower cost per kWh performance at a lower cost per kWh.

Addionics is one of twelve BNEF pioneers in this highly competitive pool, selected from more than 270 entries from around the world.
