The eighth session of the International Conference on Single Windows, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, addressed future prospects in the context of digital transformation and the increasing fluidity of cross-border trade.
This international conference, which was held in Marrakech from September 26 to 28, is intended to be a forum for discussion on the Single Window concept, which is an essential subject given the current situation. Organized by the National Single Window for the Simplification of Foreign Trade Procedures (Portnet SA), the National Ports Agency and the African Foreign Trade Association (AACE), in partnership with Huawei Morocco, this initiative was a great success. and marked the participation of a group of experts and national and international organizations.
Since its inception, this event has aimed to create a modern and competitive African economy. After hosting a previous edition in Marrakech, the Kingdom reaffirms its attachment to the continent and sets new horizons, by hosting this important initiative for the second time in Marrakech.
At a time when the health crisis has dealt a severe blow to various sectors, ensuring the continuity of cross-border flows of goods is more necessary than ever. It is also necessary to crown the conditions of access to the various markets between the countries. Aware of these issues, the conference aspires to make one-stop shops levers of real added value.
By coming to Marrakech to participate in the eighth session of this international conference, experts, business leaders and politicians aim to create an ecosystem adapted to the most urgent needs. Among the priority highlights that were presented during the conference: digital transformation, the use of technology for efficient, integrated and sustainable international trade, as well as regional and international cooperation and interoperability.
On the sidelines of this session, a program was signed between “Huawei Spark” and the “Portnet” platform, with the aim of offering greater freedom of movement to economic operators. “Huawei Spark aims to select startups that use its cloud services to support and accelerate innovation in their ecosystem. Thanks to our partnership, we will enable a group of port operators, who will be able to go through Portnet in order to access efficient ICT solutions,” said Mounir Al-Soussi, Vice President of Cloud and Artificial Intelligence. at Huawei North Africa, at the conference. . He took the opportunity to invite the companies concerned to participate in the competition launched by Huawei.
For his part, Chakib Ashour, Marketing and Strategy Director of Huawei Technologies Morocco, in his speech at the conference, spoke about the importance of the “Huawei Spark” program, and declared: “The “Huawei Spark” program was launched. in Morocco last July during the 2022 session. Coming from the Huawei Digitech Ecosystem Summit 2022. This program is a living testimony of Huawei’s commitment to helping Morocco become a “digital hub of Africa” ​​and to work for encourage digital skills throughout the national territory.
The work of the eighth session of the International Conference on Single Windows was organized according to the Ghani program, and provided many workshops and sessions related to its central theme.
This forum, centered on the concept of a single window, brought great hopes and important prospects for progress in trade. As a pioneering country, Morocco has renewed its will to build a prosperous African continent, to which each country brings its capacities and capacities.
