Of course, this mode of supply management is not ideal and therefore there is already another solution to serve as an alternative to pork. A team of researchers from the College of Artificial Intelligence at Nankai University in China has developed a fully automated method for cloning pigs. In March, the “foster mother” gave birth to seven healthy piglets without any human intervention.

According to Liu Yaowei, one of the researchers from Nankai University, the AI ​​system used to clone pigs could significantly increase the number of pigs in the country, making it self-sufficient in pork production.

As we’ve seen here a few times, there’s also lab-grown meat. However, the two designs differ slightly. If, on the one hand, the laboratory is developed from animal cells prepared in a laboratory environment, on the other hand, clones are obtained from unaltered cells. Cells from cloned animals can also be used to create meat in the laboratory.

Despite the options, the methods used today require the active involvement of humans in the various phases of the processes, increasing the margin of error. In turn, the Nankai University researchers developed a fully automated cloning method that involved no human intervention in testing.

Our AI-powered system can calculate the voltage inside a cell and instruct the robot to use minimal force to complete the cloning process, reducing cell damage caused by human hands.

The details of cloning the pigs have not yet been published in a study, but the researchers have previously said that implementing their AI-based method could help increase pork production in China, as well as to motivate cloning strategies for other animals around the world. world.
