One year after its opening within the former building of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure in Cachan (Val-de-Marne), the artificial intelligence school aivancity continues to develop. At the end of September, it signed a partnership with the University of Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) to collaborate “in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the management of large masses of data”.
Interviewed in October 2021 by “Les Echos” , Tawhid Chtioui, president and founder of aivancity, already declared that he wanted to sign partnerships with universities. The school had in particular entered into an agreement with the American University of Berkeley, in California, in order to be able to allow its students to make training trips there.
In a press release, the president of UPEC, Jean-Luc Dubois-Randé, believes that “the partnership with aivancity is fully in line with UPEC’s establishment strategy for the development of ethical AI, eco-responsible and frugal, at the service of its community and the territory. According to him, this partnership contributes to “strengthening AI in the training offer and research work. It also participates in raising awareness of the presence of AI in all areas of activity,” he underlines.
Training of teacher-researchers from UPEC
In terms of its training offer, the university already offered a “graduate program” (a multidisciplinary master’s-doctoral training) entitled “Data/Artificial intelligence and professions”. As part of this partnership, the working groups of this course will work with aivancity professors on research topics.
Teacher-researchers at the University of Paris-Est Créteil will be able to follow training in artificial intelligence and data, provided by the school of artificial intelligence. They will, for example, take the form of distance learning courses.
The partnership will also have an economic dimension: the start-ups of UPEC students will be able to benefit from calls for tenders from aivancity and its partners relating to “training, support and hosting programs for start-ups “, specifies the press release.
At the international level, the two establishments will sign a partnership with the Higher Institute of Engineering and Business (ISGA) in Morocco. Joint research work and the exchange of students will thus be promoted.
