Albert School polishes the details of its first promotion Computerworld

As the recruitment phase begins for Albert School, the school is taking stock of its program and reducing its capacity to welcome 60 students for its first promotion. Focused on data and AI, the school wants to offer a quality network. For this, she surrounds herself with Xavier Niel, Pierre-douard Strin and even companies such as Facebook, Google and LVMH.

The Albert School, focused on business, data and artificial intelligence, opens its doors at the start of the 2022 academic year. The campus based at 18 rue de Paradis, in the 10and arrondissement of Paris, will welcome a first class of 60 students. Founded by Grégoire Genest (founder of Neos, a payment solution resold to Lyf Pay), Matthieu Heurtel (founder of DossierFacile and former advisor to Cédric O) and Mathieu Schimpl (graduate of ENS), Albert School is a post- baccalaureate which is aimed primarily at baccalaureate holders, with the aim of providing them with a Bac +3 level diploma. The course is divided into four blocks, namely: mathematics (140 hours/semester), data, business (courses in finance and marketing), humanities (communication, change management, or ethics of AI) . Each block is taught for 3 weeks, alternated with 3-week sequences also organized around a company.

The school relies on 50 partner companies to support its program. Among them are Alan, Big Mamma, Cajoo, Capgemini, Carrefour, Emeria, Facebook, Google, IBM, Luko, LVMH, Orange, Payfit, Pernod Ricard and Ynsect. In concrete terms, employees from these partner companies come to provide the students with practical experience. Called “Business deep dives”, these sessions consist of analyzes of the model and challenges of these companies. The latter thus provide data sets in order to put into practice all the skills acquired.

A network acquired de facto

Students are also supported in their learning through a learning management system. This device makes it possible to “follow their individual development and optimize their learning curve” explains the school. This tool, based on artificial intelligence, is obviously based on data collection in order to offer students personalized development exercises.

Albert School specifies that the students will benefit from the network of partner companies and a long internship will be guaranteed to them within one of them during their third year of studies. A 5 or 6 month internship is indeed mandatory to validate the training. This network was not founded in a day. The school is indeed supported by the Arnault family (LVMH) and Xavier Niel. The latter, anchored in the landscape of start-ups and innovation (founder of Iliad and Ecole 42), is never far away when such a project sees the light of day. He thus appears in the list of investors alongside Pierre-Édouard Stérin, head of the Smartbox group.

A significant cost

The cost of the training is 12,000 euros per year. Thomas Mollier, spokesperson for Albert School, explains that two aid systems have been put in place to help future students. They can be eligible for one of the three scholarships financed by Carrefour or take out a student loan from the program’s partner banks. The prerequisites are as follows: to have followed the mathematics option in terminale and to be a good student. Note that recruitment for the 2022/2023 academic year is also open to retraining students.
