These findings lead the Quebec government to invest $10.6 million in the implementation of new management and decision-making tools, supported by artificial intelligence.

The Quebec Institute of Artificial Intelligence (Mila), the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO), the International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of Artificial and Digital Intelligence (OBVIA) and GRICS, a technology company information specialized in education in Quebec, are the ministry’s partners in the project.
“Mass cleaning” of school service center data and computer systems, better sharing of existing data between network entities, interpretation and enhancement of data using artificial intelligence will be at the heart of the project.
The Minister is already announcing dashboards that can be shared from the start of the 2022 school year. These will concern three main themes: student success (e.g. absenteeism, graduation), human resources (e.g. workforce management work) and infrastructure (e.g. maintenance, upgrading).
The Minister maintains that access to data, the creation of dashboards and their sharing in the network will support school administrators and all players in the education community in their task. “The objective is to act in prevention in order to promote student success. »
