ID Logistics benefits from modern, autonomous and scalable data protection thanks to Sophos solutions

Sophos has been chosen by ID Logistics, the number one contract logistics service provider in France, specializing in transport and logistics in the retail, healthcare and industrial sectors, to modernize its security solution in the face of the evolution of today’s threat landscape. By taking advantage of Sophos XDR and Sophos Intercept X solutions and Sophos’s MTR managed service, ID Logistics was able to meet its new needs in terms of detecting and responding to threats effectively.

Until 2021, the Group used an Endpoint Detection and Response (or EDR) solution, an additional security tool responsible for detecting IT security threats on its digital equipment. However, with the entrenchment of the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with the massive democratization of teleworking, ID Logistics quickly found itself faced with a significant increase in alerts, due in particular to the evolution of threats and its surface ever-expanding exhibition space. The IT department of ID Logistics then turned to Sophos to carry out a major modernization of its tools, and thus improve its security.

Comprehensive and scalable detection and protection solutions

In times of pandemic, fertile ground where threats have experienced – and are still experiencing – a dazzling evolution, the security of data and systems is more than ever at the center of business concerns. While the old EDR solution no longer met ID Logistics’ needs and forced its system and network administrators to perform a multitude of complex and time-consuming tasks, Sophos managed solutions and services relieve teams so that they can focus on their core business, thereby accelerating and improving the operational functioning of the company’s cybersecurity solutions. ID Logistics has opted for two main solutions:

Sophos XDR, a fast and accurate detection solution that works to identify, block and eliminate stealthy threats by visualizing the entire enterprise and filtering data to improve operational efficiency and secure IT operations.

- Sophos Intercept X, a comprehensive, feature-rich endpoint protection solution, including automatic threat detection, ransomware file protection and recovery, and deep learning technology with artificial intelligence capable of identify known and unknown malware without relying on virus signatures. It also helps filter vast volumes of information to detect the true indicators of compromise.

In addition, the Managed Threat Response (or MTR) managed service associated with these solutions enables ID Logistics to collaborate with Sophos SOC teams in complete confidence and benefit from the know-how of its experts. They are able to deal with indications of compromise as soon as possible and at any time, and their valuable expertise also improves detection capabilities – even in the case of the weakest signals. They are thus able to ensure complete protection of systems and data 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

“Thanks to the help of Sophos MTR teams, ID Logistics was able to detect and block a number of low-signal threats that would not have been detected by its internal teams”, comments Bruno Pruneyrac, Director of IT Production at ID Logistics.

A relationship of trust for effective protection in all circumstances

Thanks to the scalability of the offer offered by Sophos, ID Logistics was able to detect low-signal threats by correlating them with other sources of information and other alerts on several workstations, which would probably not have been possible. not been spotted without the expertise of Sophos. The relationship of trust that has been established has enabled ID Logistics to gradually relieve its teams of responsibilities related to threat detection and to delegate more decisions to Sophos experts.

“We have gradually built up a relationship of trust with the Sophos teams, who now have a delegation to make decisions concerning indicators of compromise in our absence”, confirms Bruno Pruneyrac.

On the strength of these successes, ID Logistics’ IT department plans to continue its partnership with Sophos with complete peace of mind and encourages other countries in the Group to adopt these solutions by encouraging them to delegate more decisions to Sophos’s MTR security services and thus further offload teams while adding new sources of security data.

ID Logistics, headed by Eric Hémar, is an international contract logistics group, having generated revenue of €1,911 million in 2021. ID Logistics manages 360 sites located in 17 countries representing nearly 8 million m² operated in Europe , in America, Asia and Africa, with 28,000 employees. With a customer portfolio balanced between distribution, industry, health and e-commerce, ID Logistics is characterized by offers involving a high level of technology. Developing, through multiple original projects, a social and environmental approach since its creation in 2001, the Group is now resolutely committed to an ambitious CSR policy. The ID Logistics share is listed on the regulated Euronext market in Paris, compartment A.
